Brand on Porn (safe for work)

by Joe Fontenot in Just So You Know

If you haven’t seen this, it’s worth the watch.

Here actor and comedian Russell Brand talks about porn and what’s it’s doing to our society.  Bizarrely, he and the Bible have come up with very similar opinions.

Two answers before you start: does he still talk annoyingly fast?  yes.  And why isn’t he wearing any clothes?
no clue.

6:28 long:

Psychologist William M. Struthers wrote a book about the what’s physically happening to your brain as you watch porn.  Research and science and stuff.

If you’re short on time, you can skip to chapter four.  He writes in layman’s terms.  Chapter four is worth the entire price of the book.

I recommend this book if you’ve watched porn, or if you haven’t.

I thought this was a really insightful look at how we consume porn. Interesting as well, in the light of Google’s recent announcements about how many people are now making their own porn on blogging platforms:

Thanks for your comment, Rich. I’ve only followed the Google push-back loosely, but I’m not sure I find the pro-porn argument too convincing. Still, interesting. Thanks for the link.
